I love coffee, but I also LOVE chamomile tea. It’s always been my go-to for a comforting cup of hot tea. I decided to try making an iced chamomile tea using my tried and true method for making the perfect iced tea drinks at home and now I’m hooked. I jazz it up with ginger, rose water and club soda for a fun, caffeine-free & alcohol-free drink everyone can enjoy! Let’s make it!

The best chamomile tea

The best chamomile tea is the one that you love. I’ve been loving Bigelow’s Cozy Chamomile tea lately but use what you like!

How to make it

Use two tea bags per cup of water. The recipe card is for about 2 servings, but you can easily double or triple for a larger batch.

Steep the tea for about 7 minutes. We don’t have to worry as much about over-steeping with chamomile, but it can still happen. I find 7 minutes to be the perfect amount of strength without becoming bitter.

After steeping, add honey and stir. Then bring the mixture to a gentle boil and let simmer for 3-5 minutes. I’ve tried skipping this step to see if it makes a difference and it really does! It makes the tea more concentrated which is important for iced drinks.

If you want to infuse with ginger, add a few slices of fresh ginger while the tea is steeping and remove before boiling, unless you want stronger ginger flavor.

Store the tea in a glass jar in the fridge for up to one week.

Make a fun fizzy drink out of it

You can just enjoy this tea over ice and it will be refreshing and lovely. But if you want to make things fizzy, just top it off with a little club soda and voila! I also like adding a tiniest splash of rose water from time to time. Enjoy!

Chamomile iced tea is perfect when you want to keep things mellow. You can certainly skip the ginger, rose water and club soda and just enjoy chamomile in all its glory but its definitely a combo worth trying.
