Can you buy coconut syrup online or maybe in the store? Sure. But its SO easy to make yourself! With just toasted coconut, coconut extract, sugar, water and 15 minutes, you are on your way to a delicious homemade syrup for coffee, tea and more!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp coconut extract

Instructions

  1. Place a pot over medium-low heat and add shredded coconut. Stir frequently and cook until coconut is turning golden brown. 
  2. Add sugar, extract and water, stir and increase heat to medium. Bring the mixture to a boil and remove from heat once sugar is dissolved. 
  3. Strain the syrup through a mesh sieve to remove coconut.
  4. Transfer syrup to an airtight bottle or jar and allow to cool before storing in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
