2cups finely shredded green cabbage
1/4cup thinly sliced white onion, optional
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4cupmayonnaise
2 tbsp capers, drained
1 tsp fresh dill, chopped
salt and pepper
1 package Trader Joe’s Salmon burgers (4 per pack)
Trader Joe’s Salmon Rub
sliced tomatoes, for topping
4 brioche burger buns
Frozen french fries, optional for serving with the burgers
Instructions
Preheat oven for cooking frozen fries if you plan to serve them with burgers.
Make the slaw. Place cabbage, onions (if using), lemon juice, mayo, capers, dill in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and mix until combined. Store in the fridge while you cook the burgers.
Heat a skillet over medium heat with an even coat of oil on the bottom of the pan.
Add the burgers and sprinkle each one with a little salmon rub. Cook 3-4 minutes and flip. Sprinkle the other side with rub and cook until an internal temp of 160F is reached using a meat thermometer. Flip the burger one more time before removing just to melt in the rub.
I like to toast the buns before serving. I usually just throw them on the cooking sheet with the fries during the last 3 minutes of cooking.
Serve salmon burgers on a bun, topped with slaw and sliced tomatoes. Enjoy!
