Maple Sea Salt Vanilla Coffee Creamer

It’s SO easy to make your own coffee creamer. This recipe is for a maple + sea salt + vanilla version and its absolutely dreamy.

This is the kind of coffee creamer that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning. I’ve been playing with the ratio of flavorings to get this version just right and I’m ready to share it with you. But, coffee is one of those very personal things so I have some notes for you depending on your preferences. There are a lot of ways you can sweeten homemade creamer–agave nectar, simple syrup, sweetened condensed milk (another fave) BUT maple syrup is by far my favorite. And when you add sea salt and vanilla? Gah its so stinkin’ good. I am a huge fan of sea salt on pretty much everything so if you’re with me, lets go!

Ingredient notes

The recipe name pretty much tells you all the ingredients! lol That’s another great thing about this creamer. It’s pure and made with a few simple ingredients rather than a bunch of chemical additives and who knows whats.

You will just need: maple syrup, vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste), maple syrup, sea salt and half & half! If you want to make your own half & half, you can simply combine equal parts whole milk and heavy cream. That’s what store-bought half & half is!

Make it

Combine all the ingredients in a jar or bottle and shake!

Store in the fridge for up to two weeks or you can go by the expiration date on your half and half if it will be sooner than that.

Why you’ll love making your own creamer

Healthier – Making your own coffee creamer allows you to bypass all the junk and have a pure, 4-ingredient coffee creamer.

So easy – It’s basically as easy as buying it. You just dump all the ingredients in a jar and shake! It won’t even take 5 minutes!

Customizable – You can mix up the sweetener and flavors to suit your taste! Try different sweeteners like agave, flavored simple syrups or alternative milks for dairy-free versions.

Enjoy it with hot coffee, iced coffee, or cold brew!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 810 servings 1x
  • Category: drinks
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup half & half
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar and shake well to combine.
  2. Give the creamer a little shake before each use.
  3. Enjoy!

Notes

Sea salt – for less salty vibes, start with 1 tsp of sea salt and work up by the 1/4 tsp

Maple syrup – you can of course, up or lower the sweetness level too. I found the 1/2 cup was the perfect balance for me. You can also swap in agave syrup as well

Half & half – I think half & half offers the perfect balance of creaminess without being too thick. If you need to make your own, just combine equal parts whole milk and heavy cream in a jar or bottle and shake well.

Storage – Store in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or go by the expiration date on your half and half it it’ll be up in less than two weeks.
