Iced Earl Grey Latte
Creamy, cool, sweet & slightly floral–an iced earl grey latte is the perfect little pick-me-up. Made with just earl grey tea, sugar and milk! It’s easy to make at home and a fraction of the cost of buying out.

Earl Grey lattes were my first introduction to tea lattes, and I’ve loved them ever since. I used to order a blended iced version from a local vegan spot near my work, and it quickly became a favorite. But when I started ordering iced Earl Grey lattes elsewhere, they were often watery and lacking flavor. So I set out to recreate that same bold, creamy drink at home—and it turns out, all it takes is one simple little step. Let’s make it!

Ingredient notes

Earl grey tea bags – or loose leaf tea (just double up on the amount of tea you would normally use per 1 cup of hot water).
Sugar – I like the flavor of just regular granulated sugar best with earl grey. But you can use brown sugar if you would like.
Milk – 2% milk is my go-to for tea lattes, it adds just enough creaminess without overpowering the tea flavor.
Vanilla (optional) – vanilla is a delightful addition to anything earl grey but its not required!
How to make an iced earl grey latte
Start by boiling water and placing tea bags into a pot.

Steep the tea for 5 minutes and remove the tea bags, be sure to gently press the tea bags against the side of the pot to release as much flavor as possible.

Stir in the sugar and place the pot over medium heat. If adding vanilla, add it here.
Bring to a boil, then let the mixture cook for about 10 minutes. This helps remove some of the excess water, slightly thicken the mixture, creating a tea concentrate. It’s the same method I use to make amazing chai lattes at home.

Now transfer the tea mixture to a storage jar or bottle you plan to use for storing in the fridge.
It’s best if you can allow the tea concentrate to cool fully before making an iced drink but if you can’t wait (I get it!) mix the milk and tea mixture first to cool it down so your drink doesn’t become watery from melting ice.
To make a latte, simply combine the concentrate, milk and ice in a glass and enjoy!
